Is that really all you have to say on today of all days?,

Ok, I will never give up on my dreams,

Today I voted, went to McDonald’s, and have a surgery scheduled tomorrow that will enable me to fully heal from an injury that otherwise in other places would leave me unable to walk correctly again and in some other countries I would probably lose the use of my leg and be left on the street to die.,
I am proud to be an American no matter where I adventure or where I am,

All because one of our relatives was sent out to a beach on an island in Japan,

when he was 18 and fought alongside his fellow Americans in a fight so bloody and brutal that between breaks of operating the heavy machine gun he had to stack the bodies of the fallen enemy soldiers in a way, so that his allies to his side could hide behind them as they advanced so that they would not fall themselves,

as did the ones who were there moments before they got there and had to be moved to the position behind them that they were protecting as the others advanced, record keeping was not the same way back then,

I got to eat a Big Mac today and will sleep in a warm bed tonight as the majority of the nation goes through the democratic process of electing our leaders that he and many others fought so hard to protect. Many others of my relatives fought in many other wars that found themselves in many other fights that were similar,

I might remember cold and I might remember hungry but I have never had to experience anything like that, at least not here, and remembering that is what is worth remembering,

And something else to keep fighting for in the fights that I will find myself in that I will keep in mind as I train and continue to prepare more,

while fighting evil like those that came before like everybody and everyone that works and lives while keeping the promise,

that I will never give up on my dreams,
