Rattlesnake Island,

Their breed was nearly extinct to our understanding with the cause of their near extinction being understood as overhunting with the justification of it occurring being because they are dangerous and detrimental to the ecosystem and local communities,

so to preserve their breed we designated an island where hunting and lethal removal of them would not be permitted,

The island initially had an ecosystem that was similar to the ecosystems of the areas surrounding the water opposite the shores of the island,

They are currently the only animal breed or species remaining on the island,

they reproduced rapidly and increased their population past what was thought to be possible,

Their total population continues to increase,
